3 All-Natural Ways To Whiten Your Teeth

Posted on

Do you often wish that your teeth were whiter and brighter just like some of your favorite celebrities? If so, then here are a few different all-natural methods to whiten your teeth that you may want to consider trying before you schedule an appointment with your cosmetic dentist

1. Choose Your Beverages Wisely

Red wine, soda, coffee, and tea might taste delicious but they all have a tendency to cause unsightly stains on teeth. Therefore, it's best to avoid drinking these beverages as much as possible. If you feel that you just can't live without them then you should at least drink these beverages through a straw. The reason for this is that the straw will act as a barrier between your teeth and whatever you happen to be drinking.

One way to reduce the harmful effects of coffee on your teeth is to add a splash of coffee creamer to it. The creamer helps to neutralize the acidity levels of the coffee so that it's less likely to cause stains from forming.

2. Snack On Crunchy Fruits And Vegetables

Crunchy fruits and vegetables such as apples and carrots are not only nutritional powerhouses that are great for your body but they are also really good for your teeth. The abrasiveness of these items helps to gently scrub away any surface stains that are on your teeth which results in your teeth looking whiter. Also, eating crunchy fruits and vegetables helps to get saliva flowing around in your mouth which helps to wash away food particles before they have a chance to stain your teeth.

3. Rinse With Hydrogen Peroxide

As you may have noticed, hydrogen peroxide is often listed as one of the active ingredients in the various tooth whitening kits that are sold online and at your local stores. You can reap many of the same tooth whitening benefits at a much more affordable price simply by rinsing with hydrogen peroxide.

Just brush your teeth as you normally would and then swish a small amount of hydrogen peroxide around in your mouth for a few seconds. Rinsing with hydrogen peroxide is completely safe. However, you should be careful and make sure that you don't actually swallow any of it.

There's no doubt that having yellow or discolored teeth can sometimes make you feel very self conscious. Fortunately, trying even just one or two of these tips should go a really long ways in helping you to have a beautiful white smile that you can truly feel proud of.
